There have been many studies done that prove over and over again that eating a healthy diet will help you lower your inflammation and CRP levels in your body. This diet includes eating mostly fruits and vegetables and other foods that are very rich in nutrients and which do not include extra carbohydrates and calories that are not providing any benefit to your body.
The main principles of an anti-inflammation from this diet are:
1.) Eat plenty of whole grains look for breads and cereals that list whole-grain ingredients as the first or second ingredient.
2.) If you're eating fats make sure they are unsaturated fats except for coconut fat which can contain some long chain and medium chain fats which are good for you.
3.) Eat a diet that's very well-balanced and includes a variety of foods in all colors: plenty of greens, oranges, reds, purple will help keep you healthy.
4.) Eating some type of omega-3 every day such as fish or flax seeds. For men it may be better to grind flax seeds instead of eat flax seeds whole.
5.) Eat as many fruits and vegetables as you can every day try to eat seven, eight, or even nine servings of both combined.
6.) If you're eating fruits try to eat a protein with the fruit to lower the glycemic load on your body.
7.) When eating meat of any kind go for the leaner meats such as turkey, chicken, or even ostrich and if choosing a red meat go for a grass fed beef.
8.) Try to remove any type of processed or refined foods such as cookies, crackers or any other type of food which may contain refined or processed flour.
9.) Follow an exercise regimen and get regular exercise every day for at least 20 to 30 minutes. Try to get a minimum of five days a week shoot for at least six if you can.
10.) Try to fill up on fruits and vegetables instead of eating snack foods.
11.) Remove as much stress from your life as you can try to practice a stress reduction technique such as meditation yoga practice every day.
To be clear when you eat whole grains make sure that you are choosing breads and cereals that are high grain and high fiber content. Do not count refined foods such as rice or any type of foods made with processed flour. Those foods do not contain whole-grain flour and you should not count those as your whole-grain food. Eat as much fresh foods as you can: fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, and when eating meats always choose the leanest meat you can find such as turkey. You can even replace your hamburger meat with ground turkey or with chicken. Try to eat fish often, as long as it is wild caught fish. The best is the Alaskan wild caught salmon. Be careful of other fishes which may have high contents of mercury in them especially tuna and especially if you are a woman or are pregnant.
To get your fats focus on olive oils, or coconut oils, and nuts: almonds and walnuts are particularly good. Try to take any type of butter or margarine or any type of processed or refined food out of your diet is much as possible. Alcohol should be avoided as well. Exercise frequently try to shoot for six days a week if you can 30 minutes a day and make sure you're getting your heart rate high enough that you're sweating.
Follow these major principles discussed above and you will find that your CRP levels may drop and you will form a preventative condition your body that will prevent inflammation throughout your life. Always consult your doctor before starting any practice or regimen as discussed above.
